These cover images are by members of Narwhal Ocean Research Center (NORC), a grass-root non-profit organization established in 2017.

Since its establishment, members at NORC have assisted scientists in multiple research projects, including underwater exploration, species documentation, water sample collection, and coral restoration. They also organize beach cleanups, classify and record data on the collected waste, and hold educational talks, using beautiful images to speak on behalf of marine life.

"They need to be seen"

During their work, divers have encountered seahorses clinging to woven ropes, shipworms riding on candy wrappers, and juvenile octopuses grasping onto plastic fragments... Pollution has affected every corner of the world. These creatures are too small, too distant, and they can’t even be seen by the average person.

Thus, NORC and JIUKOUSHAN jointly planned this series to bring them into the spotlight: seeing them leads to awareness, and awareness drives change. The cover images of the "Galaxy Drifter" series — every frame says one thing: "Look at me!"
